Another Saturday night.....

J is upstairs on his computer and the kids are finally asleep. Summer is always rough because of the extended day light. They never want to settle down quickly. It was a good day today. For the first time, B agreed to go to a movie and actually enjoyed the experience. Usually, he's so sensitive to sound, he hated being in the theater (maybe someone can tell me why the sound has to be so loud anyway?). Today, we went to a newer theater to see "Surf's Up". B had his hands over his ears for about 10 minutes until he realized it wasn't so loud then took them down. He and L had a blast! B had another first- he finally stood up to urinate. Yeah, I know that's not such a big deal, but B has been sooo stubborn about even trying it. It was a small step really, but for B, it was another big step. Why am I being so silly? Well, B is now 8 months off treatment for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. He had to go through 3+ years of chemotherapy along with some emotional issues. He's come such a long way for which I am grateful and tend to get a bit sappy when small milestones are met. I've been anxious over the past few days because he had been tired and moody. Me being the consummate worrier, I feared relapse. Then he had a day like today- happy, willing to try new things and my mind is at ease (well, somewhat). I won't ever lose that anxiety and some days, it's hard to deal with. I've had problems sleeping again, but now that he's feeling better, I'll do better tonight.
