Whew, what a crazy week so far! My MIL came in late last week to meet with people who are building their house. Never knew there were so many things that you have to "pick". Each of the two houses that we bought were done when we got them. She actually wanted me to go with her on the appointments, but I think I would've rather walked on hot coals. I just can't sustain that much interest in fixtures and the price of plumbing fixtures. Please tell me how you can spend $900 on a kitchen faucet? Guess it's just the lower middle class genes in me, but I can't see any faucet worth that :-). The kids are doing well, although they have been so energetic that I am tired by 7PM. Thank God for summer camp! I think that takes the edge off of some of the energy. B has actually been attending a kindergarten camp for his new school this week, at least in the AM. He's enjoying it more than I thought he would. He's been so attached to his preschool that I thought this week would be really tough. He continues to surprise me- I only hope that this is not temporary and that his transition to this school in August will go OK. He is getting to go to camp in the PM, since I brilliantly had gone ahead and paid for camp. In all honesty, I had signed him up for all weeks of camp, not knowing when this kindergarten program was going to be. Oh well..... L is in camp as well and loving it. I am not ashamed to admit that I'm glad they are in camp- when these two are together at home, it's a huge likelihood that one of them will find some sort of trouble. Camp just means that I can actually get stuff done and they can work some energy out and play with friends. In my eyes, it's a win-win situation. B and I are getting along OK on the most part- he is still really impulsive and seems to develop selective hearing when we tell him to stop what he's doing. For example, I go to pick his up yesterday from camp- the teachers bring the kids outside to meet the parents. B dashes away to get to me, running into the school's driveway where cars are pulling in. Thank God there were no cars pulling in at that time! I talked to him yesterday about the importance of staying with his teachers until they send him to me and also talked to him again this AM. Hoping that something sinks in with him, especially this. Ugh!!! There are days where I feel like no matter what I say to him, he's going to do whatever he wants to do. Whew! Ever feel like you need a vacation from your kids? Anyway, gotta get moving before lunch.
